BIRKOSIT Dichtungskitt® for maximum temperature and pressure resistance

BIRKOSIT Dichtungskitt® has been used for 50 years on Siemens turbines (product development 1952 with Siemens). Without the additional sealing of individual pressure areas using BIRKOSIT Dichtungskitt® the production imprecisions or the distortion under loads are no longer evened out, which means that the turbine areas in the individual pressure areas become permeable under pressure.
This means the turbine loses power, and can even lead to unplanned reconditioning.

BIRKOSIT Dichtungskitt® is formulated to be practically inert in its standard applications in steam and gas turbines. It is, therefore, resistant to exposure to hot air, steam, water, light fuel oils and lubricants. By implication, it should be resistant to crude oil and natural gas.

EXPANDERS

Siemens integrally geared process-gas radial turbines enhance power supply in processes with off-gas or process gas as byproducts. Medium- to high-temperature gas can be used to drive a compressor or an electric generator directly, with no need for additional heat exchange or steam generation equipment.

GENERATORS

Hydrogen-cooled generators are used for rating up to 600 MVA for simple cycle, combined cycle and steam power plants. This increased capability is due to better heat transfer and lower density characteristics of hydrogen compared to air. Also, the generator is completely sealed and thus more appropriate in an environment that might have detrimental effects on an air-cooled generator.
